Spring Holy Days 2022 – CANCELLED

    Update

With One Voice

With modern technology, we cross international boundaries and time zones to assemble together and listen to instruction. Through the same technology, we also have the opportunity to praise God in song as one harmonious body. In order to form this virtual worldwide chorus, we invite singers from our congregations around the world to contribute their voices to this project.

2021 Update

The virtual worldwide chorus for the Feast of Tabernacles 2021 has been closed for submissions. Thank you to all those who participated in this year’s virtual choir! If you would like to participate in future virtual choirs, stay tuned for more info. We would love to have you join us!

Create and Submit Your Recordings

Before you record, make sure you spend some time practicing your part with the accompaniment track. Practice tracks are now available for all voice parts to help you prepare! These tracks are available in the “Learn the Music” section of this page.

You will need to submit two recordings for the virtual choir. The first is audio only – just your voice part. The second recording is the video. You can lip-sync or sing like normal (the audio from the video recording will not be used in the final version).

Recording #1: Audio only

  • Choose a quiet room to reduce outside/unnecessary noises. Also, make sure you turn off any fans or other things that might be noisy.

Recording #2: Video

  • Choose a location to record in front of a fairly plain wall or background. The focus should be on you – not the background behind you.
  • Make sure your face and the space behind you is brightly lit.
  • Set up your shot so that your upper body and head is in view.
  • Set up your camera/phone on a tripod or on a stable mount to minimize movement on the recording.
  • Make sure your recording device is at around eye level to create the best angle for the recording.

Instructions for recording

Recording #1: Audio only

  1. Open the accompaniment track on your playback device.
  2. Get your recording device ready to record audio. Be sure that your microphone/recording device is close enough to you to be heard clearly, but not too close that it will produce feedback.
  3. Begin recording on your audio recording device
  4. Hit PLAY on your playback device to begin playing the track.
  5. After you hear the opening 2 measures of the piano at the beginning, plug your headphones into your playback device. This step is important for syncing the audio of all the recordings. The headphones are to ensure your recording does not record the practice track – your submission should only have your voice!
  6. Sing your heart out!
  7. Wait for about four seconds after you are finished singing before you stop the recording.
  8. Review your recording before you submit it.

Recording #2: Video

  1. Open the accompaniment track on your playback device.
  2. Get your recording device ready to record video.
    • Make sure you are recording in horizontal mode (landscape) with your face in the center of the screen.
  3. Begin recording on your video recording device/camera.
  4. Hit PLAY on your playback device to begin playing the track. Make sure the accompaniment can be heard in the recording (Note: You don’t need headphones for this recording as the audio will not be in the final version).
  5. Sing! Don’t forget to look happy!
  6. Wait for about four seconds after you are finished singing before you stop the recording.
  7. Review your recording before you submit it.

Upload your recordings to the Dropbox link below! Include your name and part in the file name (example: JohnSmithBass). Please only submit one audio recording, and one video recording per person. Note: You must submit two recordings – one audio, and one video. The deadline for submission is March 13, 2022 at 11pm.

I’m ready to submit my recordings!
